On July 12, 2025, the Azerbaijan Surfcasting Championship was held at Zira, Golden Sand Beach, jointly organized by the "Baku" Fishermen's Club, Baku City Youth and Sports Department and the Khazar District Youth and Sports Sector. The championship lasted a total of 9 hours and as a result, the first place winner was Rufat Guliyev, a member of the Kutum Club, the second place winner was Rashad Asadullayev (16 years old), a member of the BBK Club, and the third place winner was Elgun Ahmadov, another member of the BBK Club. The largest fish (trophy) was caught by free fisherman Samad Aliyev, a 43 cm kutum fish. A total of 27 athletes participated in the championship. The winners were presented with cups, medals, diplomas and valuable gifts by the "Baku" Fishermen's Club and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Congratulations to all the winners!
